To best serve our patients, the physicians at Regional Neurological Associates are committed to the ongoing study of neurobehavioral sciences to help us better understand the relationship between the brain and behavior.

Historically, neurology was limited to the study of the nervous system and psychiatry to the social brain–the portion of the brain dedicated to social cognition which consists of the amygdala, orbital frontal cortex and temporal cortex. However, this boundary between the two is no longer viable and becoming increasingly blurred.

By embracing this connection between psychiatry and neurobehavioral sciences, we are able to more accurately diagnose and treat patients who are experiencing a wide variety of conditions affecting the brain.

Two of our physicians are dually trained in both neurology and psychiatry.  We are skilled in managing conditions such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Mood Disorders such as Depression and Mania, Anxiety and even psychosis.
